The Encryption Options allow you to enable or disable encrypted communications for certain types of data sent & received from the remote machine for improved secure communications.
Beginning with version 4.4 and above, we have added extensive enhancements with regard to the encryption algorithms used within the MRC program. This includes the "Encrypted Windows Logon" authentication method, as well as all features on the Encryptions Options Tab and any other features within the software that requires any type of encryption (including the Shared Secret Key).
Essentially, for any type of encryption within our software, we are now using Microsoft's Cryptographic Services Providers (CSPs) & CryptoAPIs.
Remote Control
Encrypt General Data:
Enable this option to encrypt information such as key strokes, mouse input, etc...
Encrypt Images:
Enable this option to encrypt the graphical data sent from the remote machine.
Simple File Transfer
Enable Encryption:
Enable this option to encrypt files that are transferred via the Mini Remote Conrol’s Simple File Transfer Feature.
However, the best solution for security would be to establish some type of VPN or SSH connection to the remote network, and then run the software over that secure connection. Because no company should rely on any single piece of software to provide security when connecting to remote machines over third-party insecure networks such as the Internet.
