DWRCS Installation Requirements

Индекс  Назад  Вперед

There are actually two pieces to the Mini Remote Control program. The Mini Remote Control application itself on your local machine (DWRCC.EXE), and the Mini Remote Client Agent Service which needs to be installed and running on the remote machine (DWRCS.EXE). Typically, in a local LAN, the installation of the Client Agent could be done "on the fly" when you make a connection. However, the ability to install the Client Agent Service remotely depends on many different factors within your Operating System implementation & configuration.

1. You must have a valid set of credentials (UserID & Password) that has local Administrator rights on the remote machine.

2. "File & Printer Sharing" must be enabled on the remote machine.

3. The Admin$ share must be available on the remote machine.

4. All the necessary File & Printer Sharing ports (137-139/445) must be open on all routers/firewalls between the local & remote machines.

5. All the necessary File & Printer Sharing ports (137-139/445) must also be open on any firewall software on the remote machine (i.e. XP-SP2, ZoneAlarm, etc....).

6. The local machine must be running Windows NT4 / 2000 / XP / 2003 / Vista.

7. The remote machine must be running Windows NT4, 2000, XP Pro (with "Simple File Sharing" disabled), Windows 2003, or VIsta.

8. Additionally, if you were trying to remotely install the Client Agent Service over the Internet, then you must also make sure that your local ISP (Internet Service Provider) and the remote machine’s ISP do not block these required File & Printer Sharing Ports over their networks. Because many ISPs actually block these F&PS ports over their networks.

If any of these conditions are not true, then you MUST manually pre-install the Mini Remote Client Agent Service on the remote machine before you will be allowed to connect.
