The Connect Dialog Tab of the Local Global Options dialog allows for customization of the behavior of the Remote Connect dialog box.
Show Connect dialog on Startup:
This setting will automatically display the Remote Connect dialog whenever you start the Mini Remote Control program.
Use Menu Bar and Tool Bar in Connect Dialog:
This setting is used to control the Look and Feel of the Remote Connect dialog box. When enabled, the Remote Connect dialog box will be displayed using the "new-style" Graphics Menu Bar and Tool Bar, instead of the "old-style" Classic View used in version 4.x of the software.
Display Caption on Toolbar:
This setting controls if the Caption Text is also displayed on each of the Remote Connect Toolbar buttons.
Display Active Directory Computers:
Instructs the MRC program to display the Active Directory Computers browser in the Remote Connect dialog’s Browser Pane.
Use DNS Entry:
The Use DNS entry option, under the Display Active Directory Computers option, instructs the Mini Remote Control program to use the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) stored within Active Directory for these machines. For Example: SUPPORT.DAMEWARE.COM instead of just SUPPORT. This information is retrieved from within Active Directory.
Auto append if no entry:
This setting instructs the MRC program to automatically append the AD Domain name to the HostName (in order to create a FQDN) even if one was not found within Active Directory.
Display Microsoft Windows Network Computers:
Instructs the MRC program to display the Microsoft Windows Network browser in the Remote Connect dialog’s Browser Pane.
Display SAM Computers:
Instructs the MRC program to display the Security Account Manager (SAM) browser in the Remote Connect dialog’s Browser Pane.
Display DNTU Favorite Machines:
Instructs the MRC program to display DNTU’s Favorite Machines (formerly non-Browsable) list of stored computers in the Remote Connect dialog’s Browser Pane.
Display comments in the host list for the above computers:
Instructs the MRC program to display the machine’s comments, along with the HostName, in the Remote Connect dialog’s Browser Pane.
